It has just been announced that the University of Oxford has topped the Times Higher Education world university rankings – the first UK institution to do so.
In spite of its world-renowned research and exacting academic standards, Oxford has consistently been pipped at the post. California Institute of Technology – first place for the past five years – now ranks second, followed by Stanford University, and then the University of Cambridge in fourth.
Students attending our Oxford Summer School are lucky enough to stay in colleges of the University of Oxford, and catch a glimpse of what it might be like to study there in the future. We would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to the University on this impressive achievement!
Other UK institutions ranking among the top 200 include UCL (8), Edinburgh (24), and Sussex (140). For a comprehensive list please visit the Times Higher Education’s page here.
