New Excursion for 2015: Warner Bros Harry Potter Studio Tour
There’s always been something a little bit magical about spending the summer with Oxford Royale Summer Schools.
Maybe it’s Oxford’s narrow, cobbled streets that are redolent of Diagon Alley. Maybe it’s dining in the grandeur of ancient, wood-panelled Halls. Maybe it’s making your way through the quads and cloisters that are so reminiscent of Hogwarts itself.
But this year Oxford Royale Summer Schools students will get that one step closer to the world of Harry Potter, as students aged 13 to 15 in Session 4 will get the chance to go to the Warner Bros studios in London to take the Harry Potter studio tour.
They’ll get to explore the sets of all of the most famous Harry Potter locations – from Diagon Alley to the Gryffindor Common Room to Hagrid’s Hut.
They’ll gain fascinating insights into the behind-the-scenes processes involved in creating no fewer than 8 blockbuster movies with the additional challenge of keeping armies of dedicated fans happy.
They’ll get to see how the series’ magical special effects were created, including having the chance themselves to ride on a broomstick in front of a green screen.
And that’s only a small part of a tour that also includes looking at costumes, concept art, props and sampling the delights of (non-alcoholic!) Butterbeer.
