Engineering Preparation – more spaces available due to popular demand

We are delighted to announce that we have opened more spaces on our popular Engineering Preparation course during Session 2 (20th July – 2nd August 2014).
Take a look at the course video below for a great introduction to the programme, and discover what awaits engineering students at ORA this summer:

This two week programme, residential in St. Catherine’s college, aims to introduce 16 to 18 year old students to the numerous study options they have when studying engineering at university, whilst exploring some of the key the challenges facing the modern engineer. By tackling a broad range of contemporary engineering problems, students are encouraged to consider engineering as a multi-disciplinary subject; drawing on scientific theory and mathematics to understand, and develop, technical solutions.
As a key element of the course, students will be introduced to various university engineering courses, and examine how they differ in academic content.  Looking in detail at a variety of engineering fields, such as mechanical, electrical, civil, and chemical, the course ensures that students become well-informed about the numerous opportunities and potential careers within the engineering sector. Students will also have the opportunity to work on their university application, as well as discover what it is that universities are specifically looking for in engineering students.
