This summer, motivated students from across the globe will join Oxford Royale Summer Schools in three of the University of Cambridge’s prestigious colleges – Clare College, St Edmund’s College and St Catharine’s College. During a fortnight of stimulating, inspiring study, participants will have the opportunity to explore their chosen subjects in greater depth than ever before, with teaching from ORA’s experienced and passionate faculty, whilst living and studying at one of our Cambridge summer courses in the environment of one of the best universities in the world.
Whether you’re a first-time ORA student or a returning alumnus, you have the opportunity to study for one, two or four weeks in Oxford’s equally picturesque counterpart (and sometime rival), Cambridge. Courses are available for students aged 13 to 19+. Our New Perspectives programme offers students aged 13-15 the opportunity to live and study in a college of the Universities of Oxford or Cambridge. For each two-week session, students choose one combination of subjects from five possible pairs, allowing them to pursue areas of interest or to try out something new.
Students attending the Cambridge Summer English course benefit from an English programme developed by ORA's own EFL experts. Student learning is maximised in small class sizes, and ORA’s EFL teachers use dynamic, interactive and fun student-centred teaching methods to keep their students engaged. Cultural and enrichment activities outside of the classroom provide context and the chance to try out the skills learned in class.
Immerse yourself in the academic environment of the University of Cambridge for a week this summer. Live, dine and study on the campus of the magnificent Clare College, University of Cambridge, and choose between our two fast-track academic streams; Enterprise or Leadership. This course can be taken as a standalone short course, or as an add-on to one of the prior 2-week programmes of our Cambridge or Oxford summer schools.
This course will provide participants with an unrivalled head start on the road to business success. The course will combine exciting, interactive study of the key principles of Economics and Business Studies with interactive group projects, case studies and skills sessions. The overall aims of this new two-week course from Oxford Royale Academy are to introduce students to the art of entrepreneurship, and to encourage creative ideas in a supportive and well-informed learning environment.
This is the perfect programme for any student considering future studies or a career in Law. During two weeks of interactive study and discussion, students on the course will be introduced to a variety of different fields within the discipline. A group project will enable participants to develop key skills for success in this highly competitive area, and students will also be given an early insight into life as a Law student at university or college. The overall aim of this new programme is to provide participants with an initial advantage as they start their journey towards becoming a lawyer.
This course has been designed to provide students with a head start in the fascinating discipline of Engineering. During two weeks of captivating study, participants will go far beyond what they learn at school, covering the diverse branches of Engineering Science including Civil, Structural, and Mechanical Engineering. The course will provide an insight into what future study or a career in Engineering might be like. In addition, skills sessions and group projects will help students develop key abilities for future success, including leadership, teamwork and presentation skills.
This summer course has been designed to give students an early insight into what it takes to be a successful leader in the modern international community. The course will combine fun, interactive study of the key principles of leadership with skills sessions to help participants develop related skills, such as public speaking. Group projects enable students to put their new knowledge and abilities into practice, under the guidance of Oxford Royale Academy’s expert teachers. This new course will provide students with an exciting opportunity to go far beyond what they learn at school.
This two-week course from Oxford Royale Academy will introduce students to the exciting discipline of Medicine. With guidance from Oxford Royale Academy’s expert teachers, participants will engage in theoretical study of human anatomy and associated topics, alongside interactive skills sessions to help them develop key competencies for their future studies, such as presentation and interpersonal skills. The key aims of the Introduction to Medicine course are to provide students with an early insight into life as a doctor, and to give them a head start in the knowledge required to get there.
Where better to study architecture than the city of dreaming spires? Surrounded by Oxford’s inspiring buildings, the Oxford Royale Academy Introduction to Architecture course has been designed to introduce students to the fascinating subject of architecture. It teaches the secrets to building designs across the ages, ideal for expanding general knowledge, so that they’ll never look at a building in the same way again.
The field of robotics is a fascinating and diverse one. Oxford Royale Academy's Introduction to Robotics summer course is designed to give students a practical, hands-on headstart to the subject. This includes learning some of the basic theory of robotics, and analysis of the field of robotics as it stands today.
Apps and smartphones help us with every aspect of our lives. This course focuses on teaching you to design, build and publish your own mobile software applications! Introduction to iOS App Development specifically features programming for popular iOS devices, using the basics of coding with Swift to fully develop your apps.
Brand new for 2019, ORA is delighted to be offering our Introduction to Veterinary Science course to students aged 13-15. This two-week course will give students an introduction to the subject of Veterinary Science, and offers a combination of theoretical academic study and practical skills workshops.
Broadening Horizons offers the opportunity to live and study in a college of the University of Oxford, University of Cambridge or Yarnton Manor. Students choose 3 subjects from 30 available options, allowing them to delve into their interests or experiment.
As well as ensuring students make rapid progress in all areas of English - including writing, reading, listening and speaking skills - the Cambridge Summer English course ensures that students experience England and English culture as much as they intensively learn its language, interacting with native speakers throughout the course.
The course aims to introduce students to the discipline of Computer Science, with particular emphasis on the exploitation of computer systems to calculate, analyse and present data.
The course aims to introduce students to the wide range of options they have when studying engineering at university, as well as the challenges facing the modern engineer.
This programme provides students with a course consisting of classes in international business and group activities focused on leadership. It is aimed at students who plan to study business at university or college.
This course combines sessions devoted to the process of applying to law school with sessions in which students will learn about an aspect of law and then debate it.
The Global Leadership Programme is designed to provide the young leaders of tomorrow with a summer course consisting of lectures, discussions and workshops that tackle the key issues faced by global leaders today and in the future.
This course is for students who are considering applying to British medical schools, who want to know more about the courses available and the application processes, and would like personalised advice on writing personal statements.
The Summer Architecture Programme will introduce aspiring architects to key concepts and theories, whilst at the same time providing an insight into what future study or a career in architecture will entail.
