Jowett Walk is used for student accommodation throughout the year. The site includes a large field for various sports, a tennis court and squash courts as well as a traditional cricket pavilion. There is a small studio theatre in Jowett called the Pilch, which ORA students will have access to throughout their stay.
Jowett Walk is a modern annexe of Balliol College located in a quiet area of Oxford about five minutes away from the city centre and Oxford’s most famous sites (the Bodleian Library and the Sheldonian Theatre). Such a location is perfect for our 13-18 year-old students, who can enjoy the proximity of the city’s main attractions while living in a safe and secure environment.

In the college students are overseen by the Programme Director, who implements the day-to-day running of the programme. The Director is assisted by a team of Counsellors who very often are current members of the University of Oxford or University of Cambridge.
The Counsellors ensure that students are looked after pastorally, culturally and socially during their programme. Students are able to talk informally and frankly to the Counsellors in order to raise concerns or to discuss university applications.
Each campus has a few members of residential staff who live in the college throughout the programme and are able to assist students at any time of the day or night.
It is important to note that Oxford Royale Academy is not a part of, or otherwise affiliated to, Jowett Walk (Balliol College) or the University of Oxford. Find out more about ORA and the University of Oxford.
