Magdalene College

Boasting a stunning river-side setting, Magdalene College, Cambridge, provides a supportive and warm community that fosters academic excellence.

Founded in 1428, Magdalene College is one of Cambridge’s most beautiful colleges. It enjoys an enviable location on the banks of the River Cam, just a few minutes walk from the city’s famous sights and attractions.

About Magdalene College

With a rich history linked to its eclectic architectural mix of traditional and modern buildings, Magdalene College has a long tradition of academic excellence. Nowadays, with a resident community of nearly 800 students, Fellows and staff, Magdalene is big enough for everyone to find their niche, but small enough to retain a sense of community spirit. Encompassing stunning buildings and gardens as well as state-of-the-art facilities, Magdalene is a fantastic college in which to live, dine and socialise.

Notable alumni include George Mallory, who took part in the first three British expeditions to attempt the summit of Mount Everest, and the writer and noted diarist Samuel Pepys. Nelson Mandela was an Honorary Fellow of the college.

Safety and security on campus

At Magdalene College, students are overseen by the Programme Director, who implements the day-to-day running of the programme. The Director is assisted by a team of counsellors.

The counsellors ensure that students are looked after pastorally, culturally and socially during their programme. Students are able to talk informally and frankly to the counsellors in order to raise concerns or to discuss university applications.

A small number of residential Oxford Royale Academy staff will live on-site throughout the programme. They will be able to assist students at any time of the day and night.
