One of the key challenges in learning a language is finding opportunities and incentives to practise. If you study English with Oxford Royale Academy, those incentives are built in. Our summer school in Cambridge is taught entirely in English, and English is the lingua franca used by all our students from different countries. In total, students of over 150 different nationalities are represented at our summer school.
If you’re studying with us, the more you work on your English, the easier you’ll find it to socialise with your new international friends – and the more you spend time with friends speaking English, the more your language skills will improve. It’s a virtuous circle that our teachers and our counsellors work hard to encourage, supporting shyer and more introverted students in getting to know their peers, so that everyone has the opportunity to spend time together and develop their English skills.
With Oxford Royale Academy, you’ll learn English in the classroom, in free time, or during excursions and activities – at Oxford Royale Academy, these all represent an opportunity to learn.

One of the best things about studying with Oxford Royale Academy in Cambridge is the city itself. While studying with us, you’ll live and learn in university accommodation, getting the chance to dine in a college hall and stroll around college courts. You can see where Chinese poet Xu Zhimo is commemorated, and enjoy traditional Cambridge activities like punting along the river and having afternoon tea. Many of our students also enjoy exploring the city in their spare time, and trying out the local shops for souvenirs.
Everyone studying English with Oxford Royale Academy shares the same goal: improving their English as much as they can during their time with us. If that’s what you’d like to achieve, then you’ll find a supportive community at our summer school. You can work together to practise your English, and you may even find you make lifelong friends, so you can support each other in continuing to learn and practise English even when your time with Oxford Royale Academy has come to an end.
Our programmes can help you work out if studying at a UK university is right for you. Not only do you have the chance to live and learn like a British university student, you can also benefit from the expertise of our teachers and counsellors, who can tell you more about what studying in the UK is like day-to-day, and how it compares to other university systems around the world. They can even advise you on which university might be best for you, and talk you through the application process.
Confidence is key to improving your language skills – it’s much easier to learn if you’re happy to give it a go and risk making mistakes than if you’re scared to open your mouth in case you get things wrong. At Oxford Royale Academy, we work to build your confidence in all aspects of using English, not only in speaking but also in listening, reading and writing. You’ll be encouraged to speak up in class so you can improve your pronunciation, and you’ll also gain a solid understanding of grammar so that you’ll build strong foundations of the language.
Learning at Oxford Royale Academy isn’t something that happens solely in the classroom. All your classroom work is complemented by a programme of activities and excursions. This is particularly important if you’re studying the English language, because it gives you an opportunity to practise using English in a completely different context, whether that’s listening to a tour guide, reading signs in a wildlife park, or just socialising with your new friends. Above all, our activities and excursions make using English fun – which is a great incentive to learn.
