About our Sustainability & the Environment Programme

  • You’re passionate about key global issues and want to explore what real change looks like in action, from grassroots projects to global policies.
  • You want to develop your analytical and presentation skills and feel comfortable critically analysing media sources
  • You want to learn from Global Politics and Sustainability Experts in a highly interactive learning environment which incorporates workshops, seminars and debates.
  • You want to develop your ability to work independently and as part of a team and be comfortable challenging, presenting, and discussing your ideas

Throughout this module, you will learn about the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), 17 guiding principles which provide a blueprint for a healthier, more equal planet Earth. You’ll learn to critically examine what global sustainability is, and research some examples of global policies that have been created to promote global sustainability.

Over two weeks, you’ll work on a design project based on a tutor-provided brief, often involving a building with a specific function. Participate in workshops and seminars to develop skills like brief analysis, design thinking, proposal creation, and client communication. Receive personalised feedback to refine your ideas, and present your final proposal in a critique and exhibition.

Take part in an inspiring workshop that introduces you to green careers and the future of sustainability, guided by professionals such as sustainability consultants, engineers, and eco-artists. Collaborate with peers to design action plans for real-world environmental challenges, building skills in critical thinking, problem-solving, and sustainable planning.
