Exciting and explosive demonstrations are designed to reveal the remarkable power of science to students, featuring an incredible audience interaction element. From discovering the energy in food through dazzling experiments to investigating the history of electricity with sparky demonstrations, Science in Schools shows consistently amaze and provide an exceptional and inclusive educational experience.
The hypnotic power of light, the eccentricity of sound and the wonders of space are all explored through the themed Explorer Dome workshops. Students are introduced to the marvellous properties of sound and light through interactive activities and mesmerising demonstrations. Depending on the type of workshop running, astronomy and the solar system can also be explored, whizzing pupils to another dimension of bright stars and fascinating planets.
An introduction into the rhythmic world of drumming is provided by the wonderful Chango lingo workshops. Encouraging creativity, the workshops present students with a fun environment in which to express themselves without limits, with drumming lessons designed for both musicians and non-musicians.
Students at Uppingham School have the opportunity to participate in Cake Decorating and Sports activities throughout their stay. Colourful sprinkles, delicious icing and a dash of imagination ensure that crafty students can create beautifully designed cupcakes. Swimming time and counsellor-led sports activities also create fun and dynamic spaces for students to release energy and gain some exercise during their stay
Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre offers an exciting and truly immersive day out. It tells the dramatic story of the Battle of Bosworth in 1485 through a range of interactive, hands-on displays and activities. Students will learn medieval warfare and get to see some of the real objects archaeologists unearthed on the site when it was first discovered.
For the budding astronaut, an outing to the National Space Centre is a must! Students will explore the history of space through interactive displays, models and a planetarium, and will also be able to see real-life satellites and Martian surfaces.
Twycross Zoo is an award-winning conservation charity situated in the beautiful English countryside. Home to over 500 animals and 125 different species, students will explore the amazing animal world through a range of interactive experiences in different animal habitats around the world.
Wicksteed Park is jam-packed with adventure and fun! Set in 147 acres of beautiful green grounds around a picturesque lake, there are thrilling rides, playgrounds, climbing walls, stand up paddle boarding and one of Europe’s longest zipwires for the very brave!
