  • Heathrow (approx. 30 mins – 1 hour travel time)

Travelling by train - Eurostar

The Eurostar allows travellers from France, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany and the Netherlands to travel to the UK by train. The Eurostar arrives at St Pancras International station in the centre of London. Click here to book Eurostar tickets online.

To get from St Pancras International to Imperial College’s Prince’s Gardens accommodation, you can take a taxi (black cab) or travel on the London Underground (Victoria Line southbound to Victoria, and then change onto the District Line OR Circle Line westbound to South Kensington). We would advise those students travelling alone to take a taxi, unless they are familiar with London’s Underground network.

Public Transport

Information is correct at the time of publication, but you should always check the latest service availability with the public transport provider.  We also recommend that you book any public transport in advance of travel to ensure availability on your chosen route.

  • Travelling by Train National Rail operates frequent services linking London with all major cities and airports in the UK. Please contact us if you would like advice on the best way to reach London from elsewhere in the UK. The Heathrow Express train connects Heathrow Airport with London Paddington station – from there, you can take a taxi (black cab) to Prince’s Gardens, or travel via the London Underground (the Tube), taking the Circle line westbound to South Kensington.
  • Travelling by Coach – The National Express provides frequent services between London and different airports in the UK.
  • Travelling by the London Underground – If flying in to London Heathrow, you can take the Piccadilly Line eastbound from Heathrow to Gloucester Road station, which is just a short walk from Prince’s Gardens. This should cost approximately £5.00 and can be paid using a contactless credit or debit card, or Apple/Google Pay.

Private Taxis

We would advise against picking up a taxi at the airport, as this is often an expensive way to travel. Instead, you can pre-book a taxi, with Addison Lee a popular choice, or arrange an Uber collection.

If travelling alone, we would recommend taking the Oxford Royale transfer service over a private taxi where possible.
