An intensive summer programme designed to introduce students aged 19+ to the principles of Web Coding.

Apply NowThis course provides students with the essential building blocks to be able to develop a website to market an app in compliance with HTML5 rules. Students will learnabout all the required software and hardware needed and will be updated on current developments with the internet.
Students will understand and use different web programming languages in conformance with HTML5 content rules in order to create a website and web pages. Students will take a detailed journey in adding headings, paragraphs and styles HTML, understanding attributes and how they can be useful. Students will also be introduced to Advanced HTML5 which enable them to add life to a basic website. Students will be shown and will practise adding hyperlinks that allow navigation between pages along with the addition of images, sound, video, tables, buttons and colour. This will support students in implementing these features learnt in Advanced HTML5 to add features to improve their own personal or company website.
Additionally, students will be introduced to website styling using CSS and will learn the different ways style using CSS can be added to a website including one that they may already be working on. The final part of the course will focus on the value of JavaScript in changing HTML content, attributes, styles and elements. Where to place JavaScript on a website will be highlighted and the advantages of using external JavaScript discussed.
