Course Summary

The aim of this course is to further improve students’ confidence and ability in using English to communicate effectively, in order to optimise each and every student’s performance on the TOEFL iBT (internet-based test).

By taking part in a variety of interesting topic-based tasks and activities, students will develop their knowledge of grammar and vocabulary, and their ability to understand spoken and written English for TOEFL.  Students will also develop their listening, reading and writing skills and will practise writing different types of TOEFL assessment.

Throughout the course, students will also be helped to develop their ability to study independently – an invaluable tool for being a successful language learner aiming to pass the TOEFL exam. Classes are structured to offer the greatest opportunity for students to communicate and gain the confidence needed to communicate effectively and successfully for the TOEFL exam.

Course Outcomes

By the end of the course students will have:

  • improved, and developed greater confidence in, their English language skills for TOEFL
  • developed their core English language skills for TOEFL
  • improved their knowledge of English grammar, syntax and vocabulary used in TOEFL assessments
  • optimised their reading, writing, speaking and listening for enhanced performance on the TOEFL iBT
  • completed several practice TOEFL test questions and exercises
