Oxford Summer English enables students to improve their knowledge of English, both written and spoken, while living among the dreaming spires of Oxford, where JRR Tolkien wrote The Hobbit and CS Lewis drew inspiration for The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.
Students attending the Oxford Summer English course benefit from an English programme developed by ORA’s own EFL experts. Student learning is maximised by small class sizes, and ORA’s EFL teachers use dynamic, interactive and fun student-centred teaching methods to keep their students engaged. Cultural and enrichment activities outside of the classroom provide context and the chance to try out the skills learned in class.
This course helps students make rapid improvements in their English skills for general contexts, focusing on the use of spoken language and knowledge of grammar. It also teaches lessons in syntax and vocabulary, alongside improving English reading and writing skills, in order to give a thorough understanding of the language.
The style of teaching on the Oxford Summer English course encourages independent learning. Excursions are included to give students an insight into various aspects of British culture, ensuring a rounded appreciation of the language and its homeland.
ORA promotes a coherent, multicultural approach to learning the English language, where students can share ideas and focus on the benefits of improving their ability to communicate in English.
By the end of this course, students will have:
