Welcome to Oxford Royale Academy’s Oxford Summer English for 12 year-olds programme, a summer course in Oxford exclusively for students aged 12.
Oxford Summer English for 12-year-olds is an exciting new English language course, residential in an Oxford college and designed to provide students with a true taste of Oxford and the English language. Set in the wonderful surroundings of St Hugh’s College, one of the constituent colleges of the University of Oxford, students will study English with native-speaking tutors in a city that has produced some of the finest English authors, including JRR Tolkien and CS Lewis.
With small class sizes led by highly qualified EFL tutors, students have the opportunity to make maximum progress over two or more weeks of study. Outside of class, a wide range of extracurricular activities are provided to broaden students’ understanding, and to encourage them to use their English in practical scenarios. As a result of this combination of theory and practical applications of English, this course provides students with the best chance of success in their future studies at school, university and beyond.
By the end of the course students will have:

This course provides students with firm foundations in English grammar, syntax and vocabulary, before putting this into practice in speaking, reading, writing and listening. Lessons are fun and interactive, encouraging students to work together and practise with each other, as well as with their tutor. All topics are linked to real-life, practical scenarios, which means students can use their skills during activities and excursions in Oxford.
Take this course if you are preparing for future study of English, thinking about moving to the UK for school or university in the future, or want to learn more about British life and culture.
The course also teaches students about British life and culture, ensuring a rounded appreciation that will help students return to the UK for further studies in the future, whether at school or university.
ORA promotes a coherent, multi-cultural approach to learning the English language, where students can share ideas and focus on the positive aspects of actively expanding their English abilities.
