This course offers students aged 12 the opportunity to take their first steps into the exploration of Medicine through a fascinating combination of theory and practical lessons.
Students will explore the anatomy of the heart, its function, and how the heart circulates blood around the body, as well as how the lungs function and what happens in the body when we breathe. They will also learn how to treat wounds and gain an understanding of the common pattern for basic diseases and how to identify them.
Students aged 12 can expect an inspiring two weeks of study and cultural experiences while living and studying in St Hugh’s College, Oxford. The ability to choose from our range of course options means that students can tailor their course to suit their goals, enabling them to try out exciting new things and make decisions about which subjects they may like to pursue further.
Students staying for two weeks choose one morning subject (see all subjects available in the lists below) and one workshop class from 5 possible options, receiving more than 20 hours of tuition per week. Attendees can also opt to stay for four weeks, selecting additional options.
Take this course if you are aged 12 and would like to experience new subjects in the environment of the university of Oxford this summer, living and studying in an Oxford college (St Hugh’s). Outside of class, students will embark on an exciting programme of extracurricular activities in Oxford, as well as excursions further afield.
