The secure and well-equipped site of Uppingham School will host our Junior students in summer 2020, providing a safe learning environment with modern teaching facilities and extensive beautiful grounds.
Located in the medieval town of Uppingham, Uppingham School is one of Britain's most prestigious boarding schools, with a proud history stretching back to its founding in 1584. Its superb buildings and grounds blend the old with the new, with beautiful quadrangles and cloisters blending with modern accommodation, teaching facilities and a state-of-the-art sports centre. It provides a safe, secure and happy learning environment for Oxford Royale's Junior summer students, enabling students to experience life in a British boarding school while exploring a wide range of subjects.
Students will enjoy all of these facilities during their stay at Uppingham on the Oxford Royale programme, enjoying supervised activities in the school grounds during their free time. The safe boarding school environment is perfect for our Junior students, providing them with all that they need to live and learn happily during their stay with ORA, with access to excellent facilities under the careful supervision of ORA staff.

On the school site, students are overseen by the Programme Director, who implements the day-to-day running of the programme. The Programme Director is assisted by a team of Counsellors who are trained in the provision of educational and extra-curricular enrichment programmes.
The Counsellors ensure that students are looked after pastorally, culturally and socially during their programme. Students are able to talk informally and frankly to the Counsellors in order to raise any questions or concerns.
The campus has members of residential staff who live in the school throughout the programme and are able to assist students at any time of the day or night.
Oxford Royale Summer Schools will be able to offer an airport minibus transfer service for students who will be staying at Uppingham School. The service includes supervised meeting points at Heathrow airport, an off-airport ORA lounge for waiting, and regular accompanied minibus transfers from the waiting lounge to Uppingham.
Please note that the coach transfer is only available between particular times, and only on scheduled arrival days and departure days. Students enrolled on the programme can book an Airport Transfer via their ORA Portal. Read our Airport Transfers page to find out more.
