Established in 1413, the University of St Andrews is the oldest university in Scotland, and has spent 600 years building a reputation as one of the world’s leading research and teaching centres. The notable alumni of the university include Edward Jenner (founder of the smallpox vaccine), Margaret Fairlie (the first woman to hold a professorial chair in Scotland), actor/director Crispin Bonham-Carter, and Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, along with his wife Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge.
Situated in the picturesque small town of St Andrews on the eastern coast of Fife, the University of St Andrews is a short coach ride from Edinburgh and all its historic attractions, dining experiences and diverse shopping. The University’s venerable age, historic surroundings and beautiful seaside location make this centre a refreshing haven in which to study and explore the Scottish countryside.

In the University of St Andrews, students are overseen by the Programme Director, who implements the day-to-day running of the programme. The Director is assisted by a team of Counsellors.
The Counsellors ensure that students are looked after pastorally, culturally and socially during their programme. Students are able to talk informally and frankly to the Counsellors in order to raise concerns or to discuss university applications.
ORA will have residential staff who live on site throughout the programme and are able to assist students at any time of the day and night.
